About Steven Pothoven

Steven is an IT Architect for IBM and has over 16 years experience designing and developing software solutions. He holds a patent for some of his work, and is an IBM Certified Solution Developer in XML and Related Technologies. Steve has lead projects through the entire process from requirement gathering to systems integration testing and has consistently stayed at the forefront of technology advances.

Steven has written professional applications in Java, C/C++, and Ada, but has more recently turned his interest toward web development - in particular Ajax/JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails

Steven received his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida (where his Master's project is still available online and was part of the research information used as the basis for a later course offering and publication). Steve received his Bachelor in Science from Calvin College.

Steve has been married for 16 years and has three children. Steve is also an officer in his church, Seminole Presbyterian Church.
